What comes through the door
Three kinds of work, one set of hands
Most trimmers pick a lane. This shop does not. In the same week there might be a seventies sedan getting its whole interior back, a cruiser seat going out in suede, and a canvas tilt being cut to fit a tray. The tools and the patterns are different every time, which is the part that keeps it interesting.

The list below is the everyday work. Plenty of jobs are not on it, because they only come along once. Ring up and describe it, and you will get an honest answer about whether it is worth doing.

Seat retrims and repairs
Full interiors or a single seat. Worn bolsters, split seams, collapsed foam, a bench that has had forty years of getting in and out of it.

Roof linings and headliners
The sagging headliner is the one everybody puts off. Stripped back, re-foamed and re-covered so it sits tight to the shell again.

Convertible roofs
New soft tops fitted and sealed, including the small European sports cars that need the frame set up properly before the fabric goes near it.

Door trims and panels
Door cards, kick panels and consoles cut to the original shape, so they line up with the clips and the handles the way they did from the factory.

Motorcycle seats
Solo and two-up seats recovered in vinyl or suede, diamond stitched or plain, with the foam reshaped first if the ride has gone flat.

Tonneau covers and canopies
Soft tonneaus for utes, canvas canopies and tilts for trays and 4WDs, and covers for camper trailers, all cut and fitted on the vehicle.

Seats, bolsters and covers for boats, made to suit the hull rather than pulled off a shelf.

Chairs, lounges and odd pieces around the house. If it has foam and a cover on it, bring it in and we will have a look.
Restoration work
Old cars, done the way they left the factory
A restoration interior is a different job to a repair. The pattern has to match, the cloth has to suit the period, and the piping and the stitch lines have to sit where the original ones did. Get any of that wrong and the whole car looks off, even to someone who could not tell you why.
Brown houndstooth with cream vinyl bolsters, tufted rear bench, piping along every edge. That is the interior sitting inside the car above.
Small parts count too. An armrest, a console lid, a single kick panel. Nobody notices them until one of them is the wrong colour.
Covers and canvas
Cut on the vehicle, not off a shelf
An off the shelf cover is close. Close is what flaps at a hundred on the highway and wears a shiny patch through the paint. A cover made on the vehicle sits tight, pulls square at every fastener, and stays that way.

The shop
A shed at Riverbreeze Drive, and a phone that gets answered
There is no front counter and no queue. Robert works out of the shed at Crosslands, a few minutes from Wauchope, with the vinyl and the foam on the racks behind him and whatever is being trimmed that week sitting in the middle of the floor.
Ring first so there is time set aside to look at the job properly. Most things get quoted on the spot once he can see the condition of the foam and the frame underneath, which is the bit that decides whether a seat is a repair or a rebuild.
